马华力乃一名机智聪明的职业赌徒，为人风流倜傥，他闻得一场巨额的朴克牌大赛快将举行，于是四出参加大小牌局以集资．在某次牌局中，他邂逅了美艳狡滑的安妮，二人不但在感情上尔虞我诈，在赌桌上更各不相让，最后马华力凭著其智勇及技巧，赢得了安妮芳心，亦顺利在赌桌上胜出，不过，这笔巨额奖金竟不翼而飞……。Andrew Dominik’s career has been crossing paths with Nick Cave’s since 2000’s Chopper, which was scored by original Bad Seeds member Mick Harvey. Seven years later, Cave wrote the music for The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, assisted by another bandmate, Warren Ellis.
