The Delinquent Season is a tense drama which revolves around two couples in suburban Dublin. Although all seems fine on the surface, cracks in both relationships come to light when, one night at dinner, Chris lashes out at his wife, Yvonne. The film explores both love and loss and ultimately asks the question, How well can any of us really know each other?。巧娘和麻瘋病的父親相依為命，某夜巧娘私藏麻瘋病父親之事敗露，巧娘在目睹父親被活活燒死後被放在掛著疫旗的小船飄向遠方，恰逢台灣島陳福生大船路過救下了巧娘，甦醒後巧娘出逃被人販子賣至親生母親做老鴇的妓院，之後巧娘輾轉成為陳家丫鬟，陳家女主人病逝前托孤給巧娘，巧娘也成為陳家的繼室，與陳福生又生一子。巧娘雖善良盡職，仍被陳家親威排斥。陳福生死，巧娘更被趕走，帶著親生子文華回娘家居住。文華成長，為身世憤恨出外流浪，到蘇州以賣鴨蛋為生，又娶當地財主之女致富，惟仍不認生母，巧娘孤然一生以終。
