When she catches a glimpse of a man who looks exactly like him, it sets off a chain of events that unravels everything she thought she knew about him.。天将大耳神（聂远饰）对荷花仙子（杨若兮饰）垂涎已久，欲加调戏，被王母（傅艺伟饰）发现后双双打入凡界，荷花投胎至何姓穷人家，取名素女。多年后素女出落成绝色美女，时逢王母做寿在即，她差吕洞宾（徐峥饰）、汉钟离（谢宁饰）、铁拐李（永振饰）下凡点化荷花。在寻找过程中，听信土地进言，说当年素女出生时有两个女婴同时降临人间，分不清谁是荷花，于是三人分头去找，吕洞宾化装成伙计来到药铺打杂，不成想爱上了名为素女的荷花。而此时落入凡界的大耳神已修炼成魔，他并未对荷花失去初心。他见荷花对吕洞宾动了真情，心中妒火中烧，决定派人劫持荷花，一场仙魔大战即将开始......。
