Somewhere in Myanmar is a forest rich in amber and controlled by the Kachin Independence Army (KIA). Most of its inhabitants work in a mine, digging the earth night and days in the hope of finding the precious ore that will get them out of poverty. But on top of the excruciating hardship of the work, they also have to fear an attack from the army.。《不安的旋律》讲述的是四个都市女孩成长的故事，四个不同行业不同性格的都市女性，在各自不同的的环境里经历挫折和困难，从迷茫逃离到勇敢面对，四个女人分别完成了各自的蜕变。。石启泰（蓝天饰）在战乱之中和自己的妻子苏瑞芳（李香琴饰）走散了，之后，以为苏瑞芳已死的他和千金大小姐荣国碧（罗兰饰）走到了一起，两人孕育了爱情的结晶，取名为石永熹（任达华饰）。石启泰深受岳父的信赖和喜爱，岳父将家族药厂永康堂托付给了石启泰一手打理。一次偶然中，石启泰和苏瑞芳重逢了，这段本就因为误会而错过的感情死灰复燃。苏瑞芳怀孕了，为石启泰生了一个儿子取名为石晖（周润发饰），就这样，石晖和石永熹，这一对同父异母的兄弟，他们的命运就此纠缠在了一起。。
