民国年间，为给久病不愈的曾老太太冲喜，京城大户曾家举全族之力娶曾孙媳妇瑞贞进门，不料新人落地，老太太一命归西，喜事变成丧事。如今的曾家已不复昔日的辉煌，只剩下厉色内荏的空架子。长孙文清整日无所事事，不待见妻子思懿，对寄人篱下的表妹愫方情有独钟。思懿碍于长孙媳地位，明知丈夫爱着别人也不便发作，勉强支撑着这个外人看来所谓的京城大户。江泰寄居在丈人家，满腔志气却没有施展空间。曾家故交袁任敢是个人类学家，这次他带女儿袁圆从海外归来暂住曾家，似乎带来一丝新鲜空气。曾霆虽说娶瑞贞为妻，但孩子气未脱的他对新来的袁圆更有好感。。Disarmingly realistic in its depiction of the realities of frontier life, Heartland is a strong antidote to the cliches of traditional Westerns. This semi-documentary slice of life is based on the diaries of Elmore Randall Stewart about her days on the Wyoming frontier in the early 20th century. It's a strongly feminist statement about a woman raising her small daughter alone and scrapping for a living by working for a shy Scottish rancher. Director Richard Pearce brings an endearing touch to a film that is helped greatly by the dazzling cinematography of Fred Murphy. Conchata Ferrell and Rip Torn star in this small film that substitutes veracity for a high-powered plot. Pearce worked as a cinematographer on Woodstock and other documentaries before making his directorial debut. Winner of the 1980 Berlin Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival。徳川家対豊臣家の攻防を軸に据えた時代劇に、タイトル通りの特撮による“大龍巻“を巻き起こす、パニック・スペクタクルの要素を加えた大作。大阪・夏の陣で、徳川勢の攻撃を受け豊臣方の大坂城は陥落した。徳川方に寝返った者もいたが、主人公たち3人や侍女らは市中へと紛れ逃げ延びた。その後、裏切り者や忍者たちと関わっていくが……。ラスト近くの龍巻シーンが圧巻。。
