故事开始于1977年的波兰，18岁的托马斯（安德烈·瑟韦林 Andrzej Seweryn 饰）跟随着母亲索菲亚和父亲基斯瓦夫离开了熟悉的家乡，来到了首都华沙，在这里，一家人决定开始崭新的生活。 可是，很显然，托马斯并不喜欢在华沙的日子，他极度敏感而又自卑的性格令他陷入了深深的抑郁之中。 基斯瓦夫此刻正值他的事业上升期，身为艺术家的他想要在华沙的艺术圈子里打响自己的名头，自然无暇顾及儿子的变化，母亲亦对此无能为力。更糟糕的是，托马斯开始对死亡充满了好奇。在一次自杀未遂之后，一家人终于开始重视起托马斯的异常来，索菲亚和基斯瓦夫决定拯救这个摇摇欲坠的家。。‘Soo-ah’ spends hellish days everyday due to dating violence of her live-in boyfriend, ‘Hyun-woo’. ‘Anuat’, a man full of mystery, stays by the side of her.
