故事聚焦电气工程师、发明家尼古拉·特斯拉的事业及个人生活。。里昂市长保罗感到很不安。在从政三十年后他发觉自己已没有什么新思维，感到非常空虚。他的团队决定聘请爱丽丝，一位才华横溢的哲学家来为他解决这问题。爱丽丝与市长因而展开一连串的对话，这让他们经常接触，并且动摇了他们的信念。问题也逐渐出现：政治和反思是否能够兼容？。Story takes place at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii just before the attack by the Japanese on December 7, 1941. The main plot deals with the adulterous love affair between Sgt. Warden and Karen Holmes, who's married to Warden's commanding officer Captain Dana Holmes.。
